I was thinking that, in addition to the basic dragon colours (green, black, orange, pink, blue and red) there could be special colour potions that you could buy with gold coins or a lot of silver coins. These potions would give your dragon exclusive patterns and themes. In other games I have come across lava, star, crystal and lots of other cool themes for your avatar character. This would really make our dragons stand out more in addition to clothes.
My ideas for colour potions are:

Lava
Ice
Fire
Crystal (there would be different gem types such as amethyst, diamond, sapphire etc)
Gold
Silver
Rainbow
Mutant/zombie/monster (this would give your dragon additional body features like fangs, claws etc)
Skeleton (this would be black with your dragon's bones glowing and there would be different colours available, the most popular I have seen in other games are white and pink)
Ocean
Zebra

Feel free to come up with more ideas.
