Music

Postby Duder » Wed Feb 06, 2013 2:05 pm

If you are as big of a music fan as I am, this is the page for you. I created this post so we should share our favorites genres, songs, latest hits, and music cultures.

My personal preference is any time of Rock. Some of my favorite bands/artists include...

1) Red Hot Chilli Peppers
2) Led Zeppelin
3) Colton Dixon
4) Green Day
5) Dave Matthews
6) The Beatles
7) Colpday

... and many, many more.

I love getting on the bus in the morning and turning on the tunes, or listening to a track before going to bed. Music establishes my mood for the day or helps me cope with the mood I feel at different times. I could not imagine a world without music. My life runs on beats, haha.

Let me know what your favorite songs and bands are. Connecting through music interests is a great way to make friends!

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have remained my favorite band since the fourth grade. We are talking since 2003 here.

I can listen to just them and never feel like I am missing anything.

I enjoy musical talent shown by people like
Adam Young
John Mayer
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jeff Beck
Michael W Smith
Michael Jackson
Roger Waters

Ha, wow, didn't even see your post about Music before I created mine. Oh well, music is so important, that mentioning it several times is fine by me.

I am not a fan of Dubstep and actually haven't heard of any of the things you listed, but that's a good thing, because now I can go look it up! :D

Everyone has a great list of favorites! I especially enjoy the Beatles. My top 5 of their music:
- Blackbird
- Let It Be
- Eleanor Rigby
- Hey Jude
- Come Together

My taste in music is quite eclectic... which makes it difficult to zone in on my favorites. However, given the topic, I can narrow it down to one artist who has been an inspiration to my own musical development - Imogen Heap. For those who are unfamiliar, she is an artist out of the UK who is at the cutting edge of songwriting & music technology. Imogen produces her own material and is well-known for her song "Hide and Seek". She has recently developed a set of gloves that allow her to create songs "on the fly". The gloves are intuitive to her movements and give her unlimited variables when improvising.

Her latest album, "Sparks", includes a song titled "Me the Machine". It is a great example of her using the powerful gloves... and it's also catchy!

I could go on and on about my musical inspirations. Good topic, Duder! :)

Wow, you brought back an OLD forum post of mine. I'm definitely still a fan of most of these bands, but I've grown to like a whole lot more. Haha

Funny! I guess I did! I guess music is timeless and always a relevant topic. Haha.

I understand that phenomenon. A year can go by and the list of "favorites" expands. This is especially true in this day and age with the availability of music via YouTube and digital streaming softwares. It's all at our fingertips and we can discover new artists in seconds.

What are a few of everyone's current favorite music as we revive this topic?
